Anne’s partner Phillip Hodson is a Fellow of the British Association for Counselling (BACP), past Chairman of the Impotence Association, an accredited, registered independent counsellor, a past member of the British Association of Sexual and Relationship Therapists and the London Marriage Guidance Council. Currently Phillip is a spokesperson for the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy – see

philliphodsonHe has also made several award-winning management training films on counselling techniques in industry, lectured to MBA students at Cranfield University on human resources and ’emotional intelligence’ and on the Health Psychology Masters degree course at the University of Westminster.

Phillip has helped train telephone counsellors for the NSPCC, has worked as a consultant to the Prince’s Trust on a project aimed at preventing emotional abuse in childhood and lectured widely to doctors and health professionals around the world on the management of depression. He is specially interested in making counselling cost-effective as well as getting health professionals to understand the need to regard patients and clients as people.
